Cut cards are usually used by dealers to cover their bottom card while dealing and to mark when they need to reshuffle. After a shuffle the cut card is handed to a player on the table, and the the player pushes the cut card into the deck to denote where to split the deck of playing cards. Cut cards are used in most casino games where playing cards are involved, such as blackjack and poker.
